Ghee, also known as clarified butter, is made by boiling butter and then removing the butterfat, leaving behind the proteins (casein and whey) and the milk solids.
1. Ghee has a high smoking point.
Because it cooks at a higher point than almost any other oil (as well as butter), ghee won’t break into free radicals like other oils do. Free radicals are potentially harmful to your health, and when oils reach beyond their smoking point the results can be hazardous to your respiratory system.

Ghee contains a large amount of conjugated linoleic acid. This fatty acid effectively protects the body against carcinogens, artery plaque, and diabetes. On account of this, researchers say ghee can be used to prevent cardiovascular disease.

When ghee is derived from grass-fed cows, the butter contains cancer-fighting fatty acid, making it a great product to consume when you’re trying to lose weight.
4. Ghee improves digestion.
Ghee is rich in butyric acid. Bacteria in the intestines convert fiber into butyric acid, and they then use that for maintaining the intestinal walls. Butyric acid, in turn, reduces inflammatory conditions and seepage of undigested food particles, and it also aids in the repair of the mucosal wall.
5. Ghee lowers cholesterol.
Studies have shown that ghee can reduce cholesterol both in the serum (a component of the blood) and the intestines. This is done by triggering an increased secretion of biliary lipids.
6. It can give you better skin.
Ghee is known to purify the skin and give it an added glow. In fact, it acts as a natural moisturizer when used regularly. It’s also known to reduce burning sensations on the skin and even help heal scars, such as those caused by chicken pox.
